Prashant Parashurama, M.D, M.S., Vice Chairman of Diagnostic Radiology at Mountainside Hospital and active radiologist at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
After finishing an undergraduate degree in Physics at Cornell University, Dr. Parashurama obtained a masters degree at the Roswell Park Cancer Center. He subseqently earned an M.D. from University of Buffalo, and completed a medical internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Training at one of the top radiology programs, Dr. Parashurama completed a radiology residency at New York Presbyterian - Cornell Medical Center followed by a joint Neuroradiology Fellowship at Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
In practice since 2004, Dr. Parashurama is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with the highest available certification in Neuroradiology. He has expertise in neuroradiology, including brain, spine and head & neck imaging; as well as general radiology. He is facile with all modalities of radiology, most notably, complex cross sectional imaging with CT, MRI, and PET. Dr. Parashurama was honored with a teaching award from the Department of Medicine at Mountainside Hospital in 2010, and has been designated a member of NJ "Top Docs" in 2009, 2010, and 2011 by NJ Monthly Magazine.
